Today’s spotlight is on Monique’s 🌱SHADE GARDEN🌱
Monique’s garden was more than a regular kitchen garden project, it was a whole garden transformation – from kitchen garden to therapeutic shade garden with birdbath and flagstone pathway. Today we’d like to focus on the SHADE GARDEN.
đź“ŚMonique’s challenge was the space between the mature maple trees in her backyard. Nothing seemed to grow there! A GARDEN DESIGN focusing mostly on native, shade loving plants was the solution. Once established, these plants don’t require too much maintenance and provide valuable habitat for native wildlife at the same time. Accompanied by a BIRDBATH, two BENCHES and surrounded by a natural FLAGSTONE PATHWAY, this perennial garden quickly became an outstanding feature in her backyard. And the best part is, through the pathway the kitchen garden is wonderfully tied into the whole arrangement.
