Now the lawn circle is no more! The 2024 garden project was not fully completed, but will continue in 2025, but now it's time to show pictures. The background was the dry periods of recent years, which resulted in a brown-burnt lawn, while the drought-resistant plantings around were in full bloom and were beautiful. In 2023 I therefore decided to remove the last lawn in our garden. The only question was what would replace it? And my answer to that was: a pond landscape for increased biodiversity in our garden! On my blog kristinasoas.com I show many more pictures from the project and tell in more detail how I did it. (If you're reading this later, just type “big pond” in the search box and you'll find the post.) The pond is filled with rainwater, by the way, and the number of dragonflies in our garden increased significantly this summer. The blackbirds bathe in the beach area and the hedgehogs returned to our garden. More work to hide most of the pond fabric, plant more plants both in and around the pond and create habitat for sand-dwelling insects will continue in 2025. 2024 years large garden project: making a pond landscape in the place of the last lawn. Many more pictures on my garden blog kristinasoas.com, just write “stora dammen” in the search field (= large pond). #kristinasoasstoradammen #pond area #pond plants #pond #pond project #garden project #brook #plantingbrook #biologicaldiversity #anymorelawn #lawnremoval #biologicaldiversity #nomorelawn #pondplants #pondarea #pondproject #gardenproject #stream #makingastream #trädgårdsamatörnerna #permaculture #permakultur #wateringarden #vatteniträdgården
