Starting the year with an overdue visit to see the Highland Cows and grounds over at Pollok Country Park in Glasgow’s Southside. It is Glasgow’s largest park and was part of the Old Pollok Estate, owned by the Maxwell family.
Home to Pollok House and gardens, an award-winning fold of Highland Cattle, several mountain biking routes opened by Sir Chris Hoy, two allotment gardens including the nearly 140yr old Sir John Stirling Maxwell Allotment Gardens, White Cart Water and The Burrell Collection – it is a worthwhile visit for a morning/afternoon or the entire day if you were to visit The Burrell Collection too.
