Pulling your tomatoes off at first blush, to avoid the hoards of marauding Fruit Flies, means days of tomatoes in your kitchen 🙂 We ripen ours on a wire rack lined with kitchen paper, before putting them in bags in the freezer. These are mainly San Marzano & I’m just so pleased with the harvest we’re getting this year, after last year’s disappointing, shriveled Roma. I’m not sure that I’ve done anything really different, apart from starting them earlier, so I think maybe it’s just the general improvement of the soil since last year. Maybe.
