The wedding took over EVERYTHING last year and it was really hard to make any progress on @thisispinehouse . So much of the phase we’re in is non-aesthetic or cosmetic work; it’s skeleton, nuts and bolts, the unseen stuff.
Our January to June 2024 recap before the wedding. Not a lot got done but consistency is key:
1. I started stripping the stairs with #klingstrip and Paul had to finish it, because the dopamine ran out and I was done 🤷🏻♀️
2. We painted the spare double room and got a bed, ready for wedding guests (it had been plastered for a year)
3. A lot of small outside jobs done that were pressing and almost unnoticeable but made life easier for us – like finally having a home for the massive ladders and stopping the brambles growing through the garage.
4. Keeping the garden maintained enough to get us past the wedding and have a space to relax.
5. Installing the roller cassette doors from @newblinds.co.uk on the conservatory. The cats have free access to a catio and only go out under supervision. The back of the house is S-SW facing so it’s gets HOT. The screen was not cheap but being able to open the doors and get a breeze through the house without the boys escaping was a massive gamechanger for us! We chose a self-install and definitely a two-person job.
July-Dec coming up!
